THE LEARNING CURVE PROJECT

This is a my personal, yet public, journal of my attempt to learn and put into practise the art of making house music to be played in a club. Like many hobbyists out there, I would like the chance to take my music from the bedroom to the main room.

I will not be cutting any corners as I venture on this journey as I go from point A to B and finally to Z in the next year.

Along the way I will be investigating the different genres of house music. Anyone that has an interest in this style of music knows that there are more styles that I can shake a stick at, but I will do my best. I’m also hoping my peers who have made a success in this industry will provide feedback, give professional advice, and answer any questions I may have. It doesn’t matter what style of music or how big they’ve made it, we all have to start somewhere and hopefully, they can share their experiences with me.

I invite you to get involved as well by sharing your story, no matter what it is you do and maybe we can all learn from each others gains and losses.

Final note: I have recently learned that there is a rock band called "The Learning Curve" after setting up this page. I have nothing to do with them and apologise for any confusion.

Over the past couple of days I have been seeing on tumblr, twitter and Facebook about fake followers. It isn’t something that is news to me but with all the noise I have to wonder is there some scandal that I have missed or is it people airing their grievances? I have mentioned before in the past that if you got the money you can get a a shit load of services, from plays to followers. But the real question is how can you really tell what is fake and what is real? If anyone was to look at my followers list they would see I have a total if 59. To me that is amazing, to you it might be laughable, out of my 59 I only speak to 1, that’s right only 1. Does that mean that the other 58 are fakes? Not at all as I have spoken to a few at least once and I follow every single one of them back. So using that example lets look at my twitter. I have over 500 and not 1 answers me when I ask a question. I retweet, I respond to posts I even have the odd conversation but as I said if I ask something not 1 will respond. I don’t follow all back on there as well I’ll admit I have then unfollowed because they are dickheads or for other reasons. In the past it is known for record companies to purchase their acts single via the company minions to get that song to number 1. There are lots if practices out there that big companies and people with money will do to your attention and look bigger and better than what they really are. So in conclusion can you tell what’s real from what’s fake? Because you never heard of them does it mean that no-one else has? If your an act trying to get out there would you pay for followers?

Happy New Year from me and Peanut to you and your loved ones. I will be posting soon but for now lets all paaar-taaay.
